Minnehaha Academy is a private school in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Established in 1913, it serves studenrs in preschool through 12th grade and has two campuses, the South Campus for preschool through 8th graders, and the North Campus, for 9th through 12th graders. The student body is drawn from Minneapolis, St. Paul, and throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area, as well as several international students.
Ming Dong is the Chinese language teacher at Minnehaha Academy. He has taught at Minnehaha Academy since 2011. A copy of the 2011-2020 Labor Condition Applications are available here. Under the H-1B visa program foreign nationals may work up to six years, unless the institution files for permanent residency for the individual during the 5th year of employment.
The 1924 Immigration Act [3] made obtaining a visa under a false name or submitting false evidence in support of a visa application a federal crime.
According to instructions for completing ETA 9035 – Labor Condition Application for H-1B Non-immigrants it clearly states, “To knowingly furnish any false information in the preparation of this form and any supporting documentation thereto, or to aid, abet or counsel another to do so is a felony, punishable by $10,000 fine or five years in the penitentiary, or both (18 U.S.C. 1001). Other penalties apply as well to fraud or misuse of this immigration document (U.S.C. 1546) and to perjury with respect to this form (18 U.S.C. 1546 and 1621).”

We are very pleased to introduce our new grade 2 teacher, Ming Dong. Ming is coming to us from the Washington D.C. area, where he will receive his M.Ed from George Mason University this summer. This past year, he worked at the Washington School of Chinese Language and Culture in Rockville, Maryland. He received his undergraduate degree from Dalian University of Foreign Language in Dalian, China, in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language. We were very impressed with his enthusiasm for working with children and his knowledge of Chinese language pedagogy. He will be a wonderful addition to our XinXing teaching staff!
